Bunk Bed Buying Guide
Bunk Bed Sizing Guide
Choosing the right bunk bed for your space involves more than just picking a style—you’ll want to ensure it fits comfortably in your room while allowing for safe and convenient use. Below are average dimensions for our bunk beds. Please note that actual sizes may vary slightly depending on the specific design and wood species used.
Standard Bunk Bed Dimensions
Twin/Twin: 45" W x 84" L
Twin/Full & Full/Full: 57" W x 84" L
Twin XL/Queen, Full/Queen, Queen/Queen: 64" W x 90" L
Note: Log bunk beds may vary in size depending on the diameter and style of logs available.
You'll find bed-specific dimensions located on each individual product page, so be sure to check those details when making your selection.
Built-In Ladders
All of our bunk beds feature built-in ladders located at the head and foot of the bed. This convenient design helps save floor space, but it’s important to consider ladder placement when planning your room layout.
Minimum Room Size Recommendations
To ensure a safe and comfortable fit, we recommend allowing additional clearance around the bunk bed:
Add 36"–48" to the width
Add 24" to the length
This extra space allows for easy access, bedding changes, and general use.
You may need to account for even more space if you plan to include nightstands, dressers, chests, or other furniture in the room. Allowing for these additional pieces ensures the room remains functional and not overcrowded.
Room Considerations
Doorways: Measure door openings to ensure the bed can be moved into the room and that doors can open and close freely once the bed is placed.
Windows: Be mindful of window placement if you prefer not to block natural light or access.
Ceiling Height: Our beds are designed to fit comfortably in rooms with standard 8-foot ceilings. If your ceilings are lower, please note that headroom on the top bunk will be reduced.
